      During these years, I participated in a number of projects, starting as a programmer and progressing to the project leader role. This included assignments in the financial systems of a bank, accounting, payroll and human resource systems.

      Lead the project teams through strategic planning, delivering functional development, tuning/scalability, and conversion system development. Throughout the project life cycle, we had 3 main teams, comprising of 30 - 50 systems developers and business analysts. Project delivered, on time within approved budget of $12 million.Tuning of the Ingenium system daily batch runs achieved savings in CPU time of approximately 33%.Maintenance and tuning of UL product functionality.Conceptualize, strategize and lead development of a conversion system. A phased in approach was chosen that harmonized with production needs, resulting in minimal client services downtime.Conversion of life insurance products.Functional development for life insurance products.Manage annual budget plus, overall project budget.Coached team members learning challenging new roles, lead brainstorming sessions, provided direction, and decision making.Selected and arranged contracts with IT professional to address resource needs. Project Management processes, templates and best practices, including post implementation reviews and Lessons Learned.Launched the "PM Community" which consisted of project managers of all levels of experience. Our goal was to share information, support, network, and provide learning opportunities. This project was passed to me at the start of the system test phase, but quickly grew to also include resolution of multiple bugs identified from previous releases, along with both hardware and software infrastructure upgrades.This project included creation of files for downstream systems including print and agent compensation. The project was implemented successfully in early August, with a project budget of $1.9 million.

      This project was in relation to their business transformation program. As both new technologies and business processes were being implemented, significant training was required. This project was in flight, but in trouble. Introduction of standard project management techniques in conjunction with understanding of different training needs quickly turned the project around, with approved strategies and plans put in place.       This project focused on developing a proposal for the end client that included implementation of two IT systems: an insurance administration system, and a print solution. The overall program also included development of new business processes preparation for and off-shoring of processes, data migration from four legacy systems, training of all personal (both technical and business) and off-shoring of technical support for both platforms. The systems were to be hosted in Canada, but supported off-shore.The proposal included cost estimates for each element of the overall program, plus costs of developing interfaces to existing systems (approximately 25 systems affected) that must remain intact. Understanding the relationships between each system, data requirements and timing of data sharing was critical to the success of the program. An overall development strategy, implementation strategy, creation of training materials, plus training strategy as well as transition planning were all included in the proposal. Show less
