  I wanted to know how a construction site is managed and how it is operated so i decided to embark on a journey of learning new practical things during the summer vacation and work as the assistant of an engineer who was in charge of many construction sites.During these months i have been immersed in the responsibilities of an engineer supervising a construction site. In my subordination were on two small one family residences. I have learned how to prepare the construction site for the workers, prepare the phases of construction in order to ensure fluidity and minimum delays as quality of the final construction has to be excellent while also be sure to not exceed the customers deadline. I have supervised different construction stages and gave input to the workers in case they needed any help. Show less

  So the second summer vacation had come and i wanted again to work and gain experience. The responsibilities and work summary were the same as last year, but this year i was in charge of a parking lot and a one single family residence. On the residence construction site during the pouring phase of concrete for a small staircase a formwork has broken due to the pressure of the concrete and because i was paying good attention i saw the fault i immediately stopped the pouring and instructed the workers to repair the problematic formwork. Because the formwork couldn't be repaired i decided to quickly change it with a new one which lead to a small waste of concrete but the delay in the construction phase was minimal and the pouring could resume. I was congratulated by the team leader for my quick thinking and hastily taking action. Show less

  On my third summer vacation i was put in charge to manage the rehabilitation of a museum and a mausoleum. This time my responsibilities were fewer compared to last year as these construction sites were run with European Funding and the directors of the company couldn't let me interfere too much. During this time i have observed the differences between a normal construction site and a rehabilitation construction site. I was in charge with the safety of the construction workers making sure they were always using the protection equipment in order to avoid serious injuries. Show less

  The job required to prepare packs of hundreds of newspapers and to deliver them precisely to the corresponding customer. Some of the customers had special personal requests regarding the method and time of delivery which also had to be satisfied. The workday always started at 3:00 a.m. and all the newspapers had to be delivered before the deadline of 7:00 a.m.I have started as a substitute, filling the place of an employee who took vacation during the Christmas Holidays, and through hard work and determination i have been promoted to fulltime deliverer in May 2015.
