      I was a trainee at Indo American Hybrid Seeds Pvt Ltd., Bengalooru. Having done by B.E. in Biotechnology, training in this company exposed me to the current trends in Biotechnology which have commercial viability. The research was being done on using R- DNA technology to make Tomato Plants resistant to the ToLCV virus which causes curling of leaves and resultant drop in fruit quality. The venture is aimed at taking the burden off the shoulders of farmers across India, the immediate target being Tomato cultivators in Karnataka who face more than 40% damage to their crops because of ToLCV virus.
