  Summer internship working in both the civil and structural engineering departments.• Acquired information about aspects of drainage design and assisted in the design of drainagesystems for various projects.• Carried out calculations to find invert levels of manholes, pipe slopes and checked for clashes between pipes.• Developed the framing and initial structural design of a steel building for a ferry terminal.• Performed load take down calculations to find pile load for a secondary school and designed theground beams to Eurocode standards.• Prepared a calculation report for the school project with the appropriate key plans.• Learned how to use Tekla Tedds and used the software to design concrete and timber elements.• Created a 3D model of a staircase on SketchUp to find solutions to a structural issue.From this internship, I improved my technical, problem solving skills and gained time management skills.
