      Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

I was the M&E officer for the USAID project on Strengthening Peace Building for Sustainable Development implemented in four rural districts of Zimbabwe. I gained invaluable experience applying USAID's M&E processes and systems. I was responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive M&E plan aligned with the requirements of the USAID, ensuring the project effectively measured progress towards the programme Conflict, Management and Mitigation (CMM) results framework. I managed data collection and analysis through various methods, then translated that data into clear and concise reports for USAID and the consortium, keeping stakeholders informed about progress and impact. Furthermore, I fostered strong relationships with all parties involved to ensure data accuracy and reflect the needs of local communities. Through this successful coordination of M&E functions, I ensured the project met the expectations of both USAID and the consortium. Some of my achievements during the implementation of the project included the following: • Successfully coordinated the Data Quality Assurance conducted by USAID. Our consortium received a commendation for adhering to USAID’s best practices on M&E. • Facilitated training sessions or workshops for project staff, enhancing their skills in monitoring, evaluation, and data quality assurance.• Ensured the successful implementation of the project’s M&E plan, leading to the attainment of the project set targets.• Coordinated the project closeout phase, including developing the project closeout strategy, coordinating project evaluation, and preparing a final evidence-based report—all to the satisfaction of the donor and the project consortium. • Documented key lessons learned during the project’s lifecycle, contributing to organizational knowledge and future improvements. In my senior leadership role at the CFHD, I spearheaded fundraising and M&E efforts, mobilizing resources for programs valued at nearly $3 million. These programs secured funding from a diverse donor base, including the EU, USAID, and UN agencies (IOM-Zimbabwe, UN-Habitat, and UN-Women). I also championed capacity-building initiatives for the CFHD's network of Community Organizations (CBOs). This included training in resource mobilization, project management, and conducting needs assessments for capacity building. Furthermore, I led the CFHD's M&E systems, managing data collection, designing M&E plans, developing reports, and coordinating external evaluations. I led the organization's regional consultancy work, which involved work in the Southwest State of Somalia. Key achievements attained at CFHD include the following: • Successfully led the development of successful grant proposals and resource mobilization strategies, valued at more than $3 million in funding from the EU, UN-Women, and IOM for various projects.• Coordinated all aspects of program evaluations, including scheduling baseline surveys, midterm reviews, and end-of-project evaluations.
