  In August 2018 I took part in work experience at the National Space Centre Ltd., Elfordstown Earthstation in Midleton, Co. Cork. During my time at the NSC I had the opportunity to shadow the head electrical engineer and work with the accounting department. I also learned and wrote reports on the satellites and their different uses. My time at the NSC gave me a good introduction to day-to-day life in a corporate setting.

  I worked as an intern in Cyber Risk Advisory. During the course of the internship I had opportunities to work on engagements with major clients, including projects such as forensic investigations, infrastructure reviews, and vulnerability testing. I learned how to image laptops and desktops, was involved in pentesting, and completed courses on information security management.

  I have worked on numerous privacy and cyber security audits, reviews, and cyber maturity and benchmarking assessments, using industry standards, such as NIST and CIS cybersecurity frameworks. These reviews have assisted clients in improving their overall security posture through identifying the client’s key risks, prioritising based on impact and likelihood, documenting gaps in controls and creating roadmaps for mitigation.I have performed maturity assessments, and business impact and crown jewels’ assessments for clients in the government, energy, and healthcare sectors. I created and ran targeted workshops for clients, outlining actions to be taken to improve processes around crown jewel identification and protection.I have hands on experience with forensic engagements, imaging laptops and desktops, as part of both internal and external forensic investigations and has performed vulnerability testing for clients using the Nipper and Nessus tools.
