  Property Director

  I started as a Camp Ranger at a 600 acre summer camp with 90 building’s, doing all the maintenance by myself and was soon promoted to the Property Director position. What can I say, I had the opportunity to live in a summer camp year round for 7 years and managed 3 camps and 2 scout house as well the council office property. We built a new camp lodge building at one camp. We went through a fire and had to rebuild the camp lodge buildings at another. With aging infrastructure and diverse program needs most of the repair and construction was challenging. I had the opportunity to work with some wonderful people and I miss them still. The most important thing I learned about facilities management was that "Program drives Property" And yes there were a few cookies to eat too. Show less

  Master of all you survey and the man who does everything. I always felt like superman there. The Ski business is a fun and exciting place to work. I had the opportunity to work with a great team and the opportunity to work on every kind of project you can think of. Working on everything from remodeling retail shops to reprogramming PLC circuits for our sewer treatment plant, to designing and planning. We made repairs to buildings and equipment in the harshest environment imaginable where you could've been working in Antarctica and been more comfortable. I would not change my experience one bit.   As the Public Works Director of a small town, there are quite a few hats one must wear. The town water and waste water system, the roads and bridges, the review of subdivisions, grant writing, long range planning, infrastructure protection. It's a very diverse job and the people were great to work with, it is really a great place to be.

A day in the life, would include tedium followed by catastrophes, followed by paperwork, followed by fantastic outcomes and some freshies too. We make smiles and hope they last for miles and miles. Come Ski Telluride. As General contractor and project manager for all ski resort construction , I have worked on many construction projects from design, planning and budgeting to commissioning.   I have the great opportunity to help brew and package an iconic northwest beer. This dual role is very rewarding to me. I love the opportunity to keep the bottling and can line running in top notch shape, as well as the challenges of the daily production schedule.
