Design Camp - North Carolina State University College of Design
Jun 2008 - Jun 2010Overnight Camp CounslerAfter my own attendance (as a high school student) of NC State's Design Camp, I decided to attend the College of Design. With such a profound impact on my life track, for three years I 'paid-it-forward' working as an overnight camp counsler at this camp, hoping to provide the same spark and motivation that I received at the camp - leading to a productive career in a design field. For one week each summer, high school students stayed in college dorms, and acted as full-time students, in an attempt to expose them to all the College of Design could offer for their future careers.• Introduced high school students to design thinking, innovative exploration, and career opportunities• Facilitated critical thinking and creative problem solving with campers participating in design studios• Demonstrated communication and leadership qualities through guidance and support of students Show less
