      Completed a four month study abroad semester in Prague, Czech Republic. Was exposed to unique culture, currency, language, and design within Prage, as well as taking excursion trips to Cesky Krumlov (Czech Republic), Cesky Budjovice (Czech Republic), Vienna (Austria), Berlin (Germany), Amsterdam (Netherlands), and an extended trip to Wales, England, and Scotland (Great Britain).

      Construction of a commercial office building. When I arrived at the job site, the project was in the initial site-clearing and mass grading stages; when I left to go back to school, crews were painting interior walls with the finishing coats.       Overnight Camp Counsler

      After my own attendance (as a high school student) of NC State's Design Camp, I decided to attend the College of Design. With such a profound impact on my life track, for three years I 'paid-it-forward' working as an overnight camp counsler at this camp, hoping to provide the same spark and motivation that I received at the camp - leading to a productive career in a design field. For one week each summer, high school students stayed in college dorms, and acted as full-time students, in an attempt to expose them to all the College of Design could offer for their future careers.• Introduced high school students to design thinking, innovative exploration, and career opportunities• Facilitated critical thinking and creative problem solving with campers participating in design studios• Demonstrated communication and leadership qualities through guidance and support of students Show less

      Internship program offered by North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources. Worked directly under the Resource Protection Specialist - Invasive Species Control. Position was extended four months later than originally offered.-Assisted with environmental education and youth visitor programs provided by the Park Staff-Remote access invasive species identification and removal-Native species re-vegetation throughout 6,000 acre park-Collected data with GPS and GIS for addition to inventory of resource and management strategies-Daily use of state-owned pickup truck for carrying supplies and resources to management areas-Navigated through backcountry park areas using detailed topography map and GPS unit-Under staff guidance, created new hiking trails within the park’s boundaries-Restored damaged trails through root, rock, and plant removal using various techniques-Daily handling of dangerous chemicals and pesticides used for invasive species treatment (Licensed) Show less
