  My Job as a Junior Officer is at sea to hold a navigational watch twice a day and maintain the Life Saving Appliances and the Fire Fighting Appliances. In port my job is to load and discharge cargo maintain the ship in a upright state and the ship is security. i will also be in charge of a mooring station during berthing. As a Deck Cadet my job was to assist and learn from the officer of the watch in navigation and also during cargo work in port. i assist the bosun in deck maintenance, such as chipping and painting, changing of crane wires and general cleaning of the deck.
