  Selected to plan and develop the brand new Allied Health Technical Program for the Oklahoma State Department of Health. Show less ● Subject Matter Expert: Provided statewide education for hospital staff, health care providers, university students, and others on childhood hearing loss, early hearing detection, language, and brain development.● Trainer/Presenter: Provided hundreds of training courses to Oklahoma birthing hospitals, universities, community organizations, and professional conferences.● Parent Liaison: Contacted families by telephone and mail correspondence regarding the importance and significance of childhood hearing loss and early detection as well as providing referral resource information. ● Collaborative Outreach Oversight: Worked closely with statewide partners to provide seamless screening, assessment, and intervention for Oklahoma newborns needing such services; Worked with birthing hospitals to obtain correct information for newborns not screened and refers to ensure they are following state mandate of every baby in Oklahoma screened for hearing loss.● Process Improvement: Reviewed hearing screening/evaluation reports at hospitals, county health departments, and external audiology and early intervention programs to ensure completeness and accuracy of state mandated reporting. ● Cross-discipline team advocate: Partnered with the State Genetics Educator to raise the awareness of Hearing Loss in the genetics community through state and regional taskforces by serving on Education committees; assisting in developing a committee to address hearing issues in the Heartland Regional Collaborative including possible funding for genetic testing for hearing loss.   • National Leader: Led national efforts upon request of NCHAM regarding third-party outsource vendors; this included several projects and workgroups with vendors and state programs across the nation.• Quality Improvement (QI) Consultant: Coached other state EHDI programs (Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, South Dakota) and their stakeholders in reviewing current systems and processes to identify areas of weakness and possible solutions by implementing the Model of Quality Improvement. • QI Partner: Partnered with a handful of other NCHAM QI Advisors to research issues within the national EHDI process and assist with developing possible solutions for state and national level implementation.
