  Assist with several research projects in the realm of population genetics. This is the lab of Dr. Walter Eanes, chair of the Ecology and Evolution Department at Stony Brook University. As an undergraduate assistant, I assisted with extra work such as vicariance tests, running PCR tests, and maintaining the Drosophila stock. Additionally, I worked largely independently on a project involving the propagation of lethal alleles in highly inbred lines of Drosophila melanogaster. The following semester, I worked on a project assessing the source of variation in Cytochrome C Oxidase on the respiratory chain of Mitochondria. The work helped me further familiarize myself with lab procedures, techniques, and technologies. Show less
