  With extension in mind, I am designing chicken coops that can be easily constructed by farmers in third-world countries. Considering the language barrier, I am using scaled models, connection samples, and various other visual aids to teach farmers. I helped construct portable, aluminum coops and for my capstone project, I designed and constructed a mobile lumber coop to accommodate 50 laying hens. The mobile lumber coop was designed to optimize practicality in terms of cost, weight, and ease of use.
