This poster outlines the strategic framework… Show more For Poster titled: “A Strategic Framework to Optimize Sponsored Research Services: A transition from a small to medium size institution“Abstract:Background: Strategic planning is a fundamental tool to establish guidance on where an organization will be in a determined timeframe. It usually comes along with changes in processes and procedures linked with an environmental, technological, and cultural transformation within the organization. This poster outlines the strategic framework of the Office of Research Development (ORD) transitioning from a small to medium-sized minority institute that optimizes its sponsored research services due to the continued growth of the research enterprise.Methods: To develop a strategic framework, an in-depth group discussion with essential offices, projects, and institutional members was carried out for the drafting of the mission, goals, and objectives. A literature review was also established in the development of a standardized framework. Results: An ORD-specific mission was created for the next five years. The goals were revised by a committee, and the strategic plan focuses on three areas: Administration and Management, Quality Research Development and Implementation, and Training/Education. This plan includes objectives, strategies, evaluation metrics, and a timeline for each of the respective goals, including a logic model of the framework overview.Conclusion: The designed strategic plan has received institutional approval and is currently in the implementation phase.
