      The core teachings of the U.S. Naval War College provide a framework for military and civilian leaders to gain an understanding of strategy and operations, the ability to think critically, deal with uncertainty and surprise, be proficient in joint matters, and comprehend the security environment and all elements of national power. Graduates have demonstrated expertise in:- High-level policy, command, and staff roles and responsibilities requiring joint planning competence and joint warfighting skills. - The theory and practice of operational art as it relates to maritime and joint forces to include the application of operational art, the Joint Operation Planning Process, and critical thinking to employ joint forces to achieve national, theater-strategic, and operational objectives.- The national and international security environment with a strong emphasis on regional security issues, broad interdisciplinary / contemporary security studies encompassing a diverse spectrum of regional and global issues and perspectives.- Fundamentals of foreign policy and military strategy to include development of a coherent framework for analysis of decisions involving the use of force to achieve national objectives.- Effective decision-making and leadership, focusing primarily at the theater strategic level.The Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS) is a resident program completed in conjunction with the College of Naval Command and Staff curriculum.       -Represented I MEF at U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (PACOM) during development of concept and operational plans; conducted detailed coordination with Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps, higher and adjacent headquarters to clearly identify all I MEF planning, engagement, and sourcing responsibilities.-Served as a primary joint task force (JTF) mentor to the Armed Forces of the Philippines Joint Chiefs of Staff during Exercise BALIKATAN 13.-Drafted a comprehensive information paper for I MEF CG on the air sea battle (ASB) concept and anti-access area denial (A2/AD); executed a formal MEF-wide ASB-A2/AD educational seminar.-Participated in the Headquarters U.S. Marine Corps Marine Expeditionary Brigade (MEB) operational planning team; conceptualized future MEB employment methods.-Planned and managed execution of a comprehensive regional command southwest (RC(SW)) coalition operation order ISO combat operations in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. -Managed the force deployment of 4,800 Marines and sailors ISO combat operations in Afghanistan; managed the relief-in-place/transfer of authority of 26 USMC units. -Planned and managed execution of security for 2014 Afghan presidential and provincial elections.-Planned and managed the withdrawal of coalition forces (CF) from Northern and Central Helmand, the lift-off of two Brigade-level advisor teams, closure of 11 CF bases and the command’s tactical withdrawal and redeployment; drafted and submitted 8 USMC OEF base force lists/manning documents ISO MEB-A.-Executed all global force management ISO the OEF MAGTF; managed a coalition force of 10,500 service members and 4,500 supporting contractors; skillfully managed RC(SW) force requirements within U.S. force management levels; planned and managed a dynamic series of 20,596 RC(SW) transportation requirements maintaining 100 percent accuracy of all unit line numbers during the redeployment of 10,421 military personnel, 2,669 contractors, and 31 million tons of combat equipment.       -Served as AC/S G-6 for a Marine Expeditionary Brigade consisting of 15,000 Marines and Sailors; advised the Commanding General (CG) and staff on all matters pertaining to afloat and ashore command, control, communications and computers (C4) equipment, communications personnel, and information management.-Planned and managed the installation, operation, maintenance, and defense of full spectrum JTF(Fwd) C4 services ISO 200 end users across two tactical networks ashore during BALIKITAN / Operational Capabilities Assessment (OCA) 17 to include reliable secure and non-secure voice, video, data, and file share services. -Served as the communications provider (COMM-P) and integrator (COMM-I) for 1st MEB; planned, provisioned, defended, and maintained all deployed ashore and afloat C4 networks providing hub services and C4 applications for all major subordinate elements.-Advised the MEB CG on all matters pertaining to delegation approval authority (DAA), key management infrastructure (KMI), and electromagnetic spectrum management (ESM).-Serve as Staff CMS Responsibility Officer (SCMSRO) and Immediate Superior in Command (ISIC) for the I MEF Commanding General.-Managed the C4 planning effort in preparation for DAWN BLITZ 17.-Tracked all MEU C4 shipboard installs and routine maintenance.-Ensured G-6/C4 alignment with all I MEF campaign plan lines of operation/effort.-Served as MEF G-6 Liaison to C4 Department, Combat Development & Integration, and Marine Corps Combat Development Command, and Manpower Management Officer Assignments at Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps and higher and adjacent headquarters G-6's.-Served as primary MEF G-6 Representative to the Resource Management Working Group andthe Manpower Management Working Group advising the G-6 on all manpower-related matters.-Provided fiscal, administrative, and legal oversight across all G-6 functional areas.-Managed the internal G-6 battle rhythm; provided G-6 support to the MEF battle rhythm.
