      This position was a fixed-term graduate trainee role, designed to provide experience and training in a library environment before the commencement of a postgraduate library qualification. In this position I had the opportunity to become involved with a number of different projects, including those involving marketing and promotion, user services and collection management.

      In this role I was involved in collection management, enquiry services, mediated searches and IT support. I delivered and co-produced information literacy training for library members. I was also involved in the marketing and promotion of services, delivering customised email campaigns. While in this role I acted as a local NHS athens administrator, dealing with technical enquiries relating to resources and access.

      In this role I was responsible for leading a strategic review of the RCS surgical current awareness service. I supervised the work of a team of Information Specialists and I was involved in operational planning and service evaluation. I was responsible for undertaking systematic literature searches for a workstream supporting the production of guidance for the National Surgical Commissioning Centre. As Information Services Librarian I was responsible for producing bespoke current awareness bulletins for the specialties of urology and plastic and reconstructive surgery. I carried out systematic literature searches for surgical commissioning guidance and provided mediated literature searches for members and fellows.
