Founder/Director Low Country Wilderness Retreat Center,

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY Founder/Director, Low Country Wilderness Retreat Center, Waynesville, NC 1997 – Sept 2011 I developed one of the first of its kind short term therapeutic Intensives, for individuals and families to compliment my psychotherapy practice. My Dad and I began this journey, after formulating a business plan and Vision, with 1 small cabin in the Great Smokey Mountains and over the years, LCW has become 4 cabins and over 5 acres of pristine wilderness just outside of The Great Smokey National Park. These weekend and weeklong short term therapeutic retreats, included evidence based practices, through a variety of therapeutic techniques, Guided Imagery, Deep breathing exercises, family sculpting, other CBT and psychodrama work. In addition, LCW integrated into these intensives what I referred to as (Wellness in the Wilderness), which was a vehicle for individuals and families to further their healing with others in a small group setting. These retreats would have included, a host of differing adventure components such as whitewater rafting, Snow skiing, Low ropes, Snow Boarding, Snow Sledding and Mountain Hiking to break through and overcome self defeating patterns of abuse. Sold this Mountain Location September 2011: However, I continue to offer these Intensives through Low Country Wilderness on the coast of South Carolina.Specialties: Interventions, Business development, Consulting and Marketing, Individual and Group Therapy Show less
