      Rosmery, a Caribbean student, was a rare recipient of the Emerging Leaders in the Americas Program (ELAP). ELAP is a Canadian government-funded scholarship that offers students and researchers from Latin America and the Caribbean study or research opportunities in Canada at various academic levels.

      • Spearheaded the "Cimarronas" Afro-Identity Campaign, celebrating the autonomy and pride of Afro-Dominican women.• Collaborated with a diverse team to organize events and raise awareness for the 25th Anniversary of the International Day of Black, Afro-Latin American, Afro-Caribbean, and Diaspora Women.• Successfully engaged with over 500 participants and community members, amplifying the voices of Afro-Dominican women and promoting empowerment. This document contains the results of the National Consultation on Human Rights in which 61 lesbian, bisexual and non-heterosexual women participated. It seeks a profound transformation of social structures in order to expand policies and allocate funds to cover the social demands of various citizen groups that, according to their sexual preference, are known as lesbian, bisexual and other women who do not identify as heterosexual.

Since 2014, more than 850 LGBTI+ leaders from over 30 countries from all over the continent, have attended our conferences and utilized the tools and skills acquired during the event to lead non-profit organizations, become public servants, and secure change for their communities.Participants from across Latin America and the Caribbean will attend this fourth edition of our conference to share ideas, exchange best practices, and lay the groundwork for advancing equality in their home countries.
