      Delegated by the Assistant Regional Administration for GSA's Pacific Rim Region Federal Supply Service to serve as the principal advisor, consultant and champion towards the use of cutting edge and Internet based technologies.Responsible for executing, coordinating, implementing and evaluating all program matters as they related to automated systems throughout GSA FSS Region 9. Supervised a staff of technical support and program personnel consisting of both federal and contract workers dispersed throughout the Region that consisted of four western stares and the Pacific Rim territories. Responsible for the development and implementation of computer related support services for approximately 2000 employees in the Pacific Rim Region. Show less

      I was a direct report to the CIO and was responsible for establishing both the technical and IT strategic direction for the agency. In doing so, I managed a diverse staff of database and web IT professionals and worked closely with upper management within the 31 departments and business lines which make up the agency. I was responsible for developing all Standard Operating Procedures as they related to Internet technologies or the adoption of e-Government programs and projects. Additionally, I prepared and submitted to the CIO my department’s annual budget request and consulted on the entire Information Technology Office’s budget submission. Specific accomplishments include: Establishing the agency’s E-Government Program Concept of Operations and its E-Government Strategic Business Plan with technical implantation and operations methodologies and blue prints.       As the Chief Technology Officer of US Customs & Border Protection, Wolf Tombe is responsible for the proactive formation of cross-cutting integrated technology strategies, architectures and solutions across CBP. He is also responsible for the Agency’s Information Transformation initiatives, which includes the CBP Enterprise Technical Architecture, CBP Technology Roadmap, Common Infrastructure, Technology Lifecycle implementation and Customer Transformation Services. Mr. Tombe Chairs both the SOA and Application Working Group and the Technology Review Committee where he provides leadership on technology planning, architecture, standards and adoption of industry best practices for technology management. As CTO, Mr. Tombe is the liaison for CBP with industry and other government agencies on technology issues and matters. In this capacity, Mr. Tombe founded the first US Government “Federal CTO Forum” in December of 2008. Recognizing both the need and tremendous benefits to be gained by sharing technology best practices and innovations between federal agencies the forum now has regular participation from twenty-six federal civilian and defense agencies.
