The prize afforded me the opportunity to have my short film idea produced whilst working closely with Idris as my mentor and Executive Producer. Across the 2 week pre-production process and 2 day shoot, I along with a team of very talented industry professionals produced the 13 minute comedy drama "Howard's Happy Place".

  Working with the production team at Flying Object to develop the 3 hour live steam, Stand Up 2 Cancer: YouTube Fights Back.I was tasked with evolving ideas for exciting games that could be played by YouTube influencers during the live stream as part of an ongoing team based competition. This required me to call upon my existing knowledge of YouTube culture and trends as well as thinking outside of the box in order to turn existing tropes on their head. As well as laying these out theoretically, I then had to dry run every game I had created so as to refine them for a live show environment. I was also charged with creating a 3 minute VT to be aired during the show. This flexed my video production, editing, presenting, writing and animation skills. Show less 1 of 5 Content Creators for Spanish Flu Now, a project funded by the Arts Council as part of the larger cultural programme, 14-18 Now. The brief was to re-imagine the Spanish Flu outbreak of 1918 in a modern day setting, telling the story of a characters day-to-day struggles via the medium of Instagram. I developed two characters in the project: Omar, a 21 year old graphic design student and Santh, a 24 year old. single, pregnant woman. I aimed to combine realistic, human story telling with compelling photography that felt consistent with the modern aesthetic of social media. The role also required me to produce graphic design pieces for all of the fictional government literature, newspapers, magazines, consumer products and advertisements included in all 5 artists work. This was an exciting challenge that required much research in order to effectively build a homogeneous hypothetical world. Show less

  Working with the production team at Flying Object to produce several pieces of short form digital media for Google Arts and Culture. As script supervisor, I took down time codes along with very detailed notes on all recorded interviews. I then used these notes to piece together the first draft cuts of the final videos. These were then sent to the animators for finalizing. As there was no formal script for the videos, I had to piece together a coherent 3 minute video from 45 minutes of footage. This allowed me to utilize my strengths as a content creator in crafting a narrative that feels cohesive and fluid from individual parts. Show less

  Working with the team at Fifth Planet Productions, I took on the role of Creative Producer for a digital media short commissioned to promote Cranfield School of Management's Business Growth Programme. It took the form of a 3 minute comedy sketch making light of common types of manager one might find in the workplace. I helped in the creative development of the idea, wrote the script and fully casted the production. I also co-directed the talent on the day of filming. This is a role in which I felt very much in my element, bringing together my skills in creative development, producing and comedy directing. Show less

Since having been acquired by Slumber Studios in 2022, the show has grown from strength to strength and pulls in a global audience of 200,000 monthly listeners.   In October 2024 I launched The Kingdom Sleeps, a fantasy sleep podcast for the D&D and TTRPG community. Leaning into several years of experience in producing the Send Me To Sleep podcast for Slumber Studios, I wanted to combine what I had learnt about the podcasting and wellbeing industry with one of my greatest passions... fantasy worlds.After spending a year fleshing out the game world and the podcast format, taking on the inordinately creative and talented Tom Tysoe as a show writer and content producer, we were ready to launch. The initial growth and response from the community has be both touching and encouraging, and whilst we a still finding our feet, with the help of the community, we see the show growing into something very special. I truly believe in the therapeutic power of fantasy, and my quest is to turn The Kingdom Sleeps into a provider of content and tools that fuel the imagination of minds in ways that are cathartic and self-actualizing.
