  I supervise special education programs for the Penn Yan Central School District. For the past 20 years I have steered special education programing towards almost total inclusion. I have managed to eliminate almost all special education classes and have integrated the vast majority of special education students into general education classes under an integrated co-teaching model. Penn Yan has the highest rate of integration of special education students in the Wayne Finger Lakes region. Penn Yan is also a leader in vocational training and work study development for those students with intellectual disabilities. We have entered into a unique collaborative with the ARC of Yates to provide work study opportunities that with the goal of having our students employed competitively once they graduate. I also co-founded the DRIVE program of the campus of Keuka College. This is a unique transition program for students with intellectual disabilities 18 years and older.
