I am currently studying to become an OTP through the Masters program at Temple University.       OTS Level 1A Fieldwork Placement: School Setting

      Acted as part of a four person group responsible for adapting SEPTA travel training for three classrooms of varying age students with developmental or intellectual disabilities. As a group we created upgrades and downgrades to lesson plans and administered a test to measure progress over the school year. Notably, improvements were made to comprehension, carryover, and independence with using public transportation across all age groups.

      Provided full time on-site OT support for residents including 1:1 sessions, group sessions, goal setting, and environmental adaptations. Residents often had comorbidities of homelessness and mental health diagnosis, requiring individualized plans of care and goal setting processes. Additionally, a quarterly report was completed which is used to support continued funding of OT at this location.

      OTS Level 2B Fieldwork Placement: Subacute Care/SNF

      Provided OT in a subacute care/modified SNF setting for patients across the lifespan. Conditions treated included TBI, COPD, CHF, CVA, PD, UTI, diabetes, obesity, post surgical recovery, dysarthria, generalized debility, orthostatic hypotension, ataxia, dementia, cognitive impairment, amputation, amongst others. 5-8 patients were seen daily for which documentation was completed using Epic software. Documentation included progress notes, evaluation, discharge planning, goal setting, and caregiver education. Therapy included upgrades and downgrades for tasks as necessary, involving both simulated, preparatory, and applied skills for functional engagement in meaningful occupations. Sessions focused on ADL/IADL re training, adaptive equipment education, home modification, DME education, strength and endurance training, functional mobility and transfers, cognitive retraining, observation of and adherence to precautions, energy conservation, and more.
