  I worked in the fermentation group of the enzyme manufactoring plant. I prepared, operated and monitored the post-processing of the enzyme cultivations. I also produced final enzyme products. My work consisted of two aspects: the operation of the process from the computer and the manual labor in the factory.

  My summerjob in the quality control laboratory consisted of doing several monitoring enzyme and chemical analyses of the enzyme cultivations and final products and reporting the results of the analyses. I also worked for the instrument maintenance of the laboratory for two weeks.

  I worked as a research scientist in the Protein Production team. I did genetic engineering of filamentous fungi for protein production, cultivating strains and analysing their level of production of proteins, such as enzymes and therapeutic proteins. My job was a mixture of molecular biology, biochemistry and microbiology. I worked mostly in projects delivered for industrial customers. I worked as a part of Production Host Engineering team. I did metabolic engineering of Aspergillus niger with CRISPR/Cas9 in order to produce mucic acid from citrus pectin. I developed and optimized a high throughput CRISPR/Cas9 method for A. niger. I presented my Master’s Thesis results for our project partners in the Jacobs University in Bremen and presented a poster New Energy seminar of the Academy of Finland.
