      Sales Operations and Reporting

Focused on gathering data from corporate mainframe to generate weekly and quarterly sales reports and track sales competitions for new circuits sold. Training included stepping through a series of Paradox recorded steps to process the data for the weekly report. It would take 1 week to process the data. After identifying critical process errors from my predecessor, I re-implemented the process where it didn’t recount every week’s data from the beginning of the year to generate each report. The implementation was using Clipper, a dbase compatible compiler. After completion, it took less than a day to generate the weekly report. Most of the time was to download the data from corporate.Other responsibilities included tracking and reporting sales contest results for sales team incentives. Show less

      Jan 1990 - Jan 1996

As the University was getting closer to a full IT reorganization, I was promoted to Director covering all network services on campus. With one full time staff member and multiple students, we expanded the design and implementation of the network campus wide. We worked closely with the telecommunications department staff and computer support staff to ensure that the community including students, faculty and staff would all benefit from current and future network architectures. This was an exciting time for myself as I laid the groundwork for the network architecture that is still basically in place today. Show less After a year building out the network and file services for the College of Arts & Sciences, I was brought on manage and build the network and file services for Academic Computing which managed computer labs across campus and support the computer and network efforts of the other colleges. Many of the other colleges were still using the phone system proprietary network that was previously deployed by Administrative Computing. Expansion of the network and facilities was carried out by the department director, myself and a team of undergraduate and graduate students I led. Show less Primary responsibility was to build out a standards based Ethernet network for the College of Arts & Sciences using AT&T Ethernet hubs and introduced the AT&T Lan Manager file and print server. Using the fiber previously installed on campus, I linked 3 buildings together using FOIRL, installed a Cisco AGS+ router and upgraded most of the 300+ Arts & Sciences faculty members computers to the network and server. I had a support team of undergraduate and graduate students to lead in both network support and desktop support. Show less
