  Increasing the Manufacturing Density of Sub Assembly Units using Flexible Manufacturing SystemProcess Optimization, Inventory control and cost reduction strategies were planned to incorporate engine and hydraulic tank sub-assembly stations, feeding the production line of Hydraulic excavator division.It resulted in the work space utilization and dirt free environment.Spaghetti diagrams were used to find the redundancies in work flow of engine and hydraulic sub assembly processes.Used AutoCAD to design the layout to incorporate the assembly stations.A fixture was modeled using CatiaV5 to facilitate the engine assembly process.Gained knowledge of the operating principles, assembling procedures and production strategies of Hydraulic excavator CAT 320D2.Hands on the basics of machine drawings that are used for manufacturing components.
