  Following a move to Surrey in November 2021, I took on the role as manager at King’s Court, the responsibilities included staff rostering, induction, training and recruitment. A large part of the role also included managing budgets, agreeing fees and liaising with key stakeholders and commissioning bodies. I was also responsible for overseeing safeguarding within the home and working with the multidisciplinary team to provide the highest standard of care and support. I led a team of around 35 staff and as part of my role I supported with mentoring, supervision and appraisals as well as promoting professional development. The home used PCS electronic care documentation system and a large part of my role involved creating, reviewing and implementing person-centred care plans, as well as overseeing and enabling others to do so. An important part of my role responsibilities also included ensuring health and safety compliance within the home. This includes arranging and overseeing contractors coming in to carry out planned servicing and urgent maintenance of equipment, completing general risk assessments for the home, taking responsibility for completing and delegating actions following audits and inspections and completing audits in relation to health and safety and the ongoing maintenance of the home.   Managing Overseas Recruitment, Training & Development Support

  My responsibilities include sourcing and recruiting quality care and nursing staff for ten Residential and Nursing Homes within Cornwall, whilst ensuring legal compliance and a commitment to meeting our ethical obligations. I support with policy writing, creating induction, integration and training resources and acting as a wellbeing link for overseas staff to ensure they receive ongoing support where required.I am also a certified trainer in manual handling, fire safety and several other topics and I create and deliver training on various subjects to enable the team to perform their roles effectively and safely. I am passionate about developing and supporting staff, and I frequently reflect on my practice and work hard to expand my knowledge and skills. I have a keen interest in health and safety and compliance management, and my goal is to further my career and expertise in this area and contribute to the quality and excellence of the social care sector.
