      During 1993-96-99, Anwar was appointed member of His Highness Aga Khan Council for Kharadhar (Karachi), and was made Convenor/Camp Commandant of Afghan Refugee Centers at: i) Kharadhar ii) Malir, and iii) Ismaili Charitable Trust.Here he created community centers, literacy centers, non formal education, early childhood care, and health and hygiene programs catering to education based rehabilitation of 40000 women, men and children, also making them an integral part of the management of these refugee camps or transit centers.
