      Capitol View Arts provides programming with the purpose of bringing people together, providing cultural awareness, educating artists in regard to career decisions, and improving quality of life in east Austin, all while preserving Austin’s African American heritage. Capitol View Arts program activities include: • Seminars , workshops, and one on one mentoring designed for artists and members of the creative industries to improve chances of career success, • The production of performances and special events for the public to highlight urban music, east Austin and its history, and social justice issues, • Promotional and educational assistance to artists through participation in showcases, community events, festivals and conferences, and • The preservation and recognition of the historic Victory Grill in east Austin.       Texas Accountants and Lawyers for the Arts was formed in 1979 to meet the legal and accounting needs of artists and art nonprofits. Services include lawyer and accountant pro bono assistance for artists, patent pro bono assistance for inventors, dispute resolution services, and educational programs for the artistic and business communities. Programs are designed to help participants apply sound business practices to protect intellectual property, advance careers, and develop income.TALA believes that individuals, regardless of income, should have access to business knowledge and advice to further a career in the arts. TALA’s pro bono legal and accounting services are offered to artists from all creative disciplines, including visual artists, musicians, actors, dancers, film makers and writers. Over 200 attorneys and accountants volunteer their time each year, assisting in legal and accounting matters that might otherwise remain unresolved and unrepresented. Show less

      The City of Austin Music Division partnered with Titan Music Group to conduct a first ever city-wide benchmarking survey project take an in-depth look at Austin’s music industry workers and its economic issues and opportunities. The purpose is to get an in-depth, detailed understanding of: - How many people are working in each sector of the music industry at a local level;- How well those sectors and its workers are doing, including any identifiable barriers to economic growth; - Underutilized assets or opportunities for growth that can be leveraged at a local level; and - Which sectors may be best poised for future growth and other trend information that may help point the way forward.
