I advised the CO of areas needing improvement, documented deficiencies, and prepared deduction worksheets to support amounts to be deducted from monthly payments. I learned to use the Procurement Desktop Defense (PD2) software system which I used from 2001 - 2006 to prepare solicitations, amendments, award documents and subsequent modifications for construction, service and supply contracts. I prepared pre-award documents and administered contracts for installation support on Fort Bragg. I prepared modifications to existing contracts, primarily recovering unused funding on medical supply and service contracts. I communicated directly with contractors on bilateral actions and document all correspondence. I used the Procurement Desktop – Defense (PD2) software to process modifications (create, generate, run integrity check, and route to a Contracting Officer) and to rebuild legacy paper contracts into PD2 where an electronic copy did not exist. I ran checks on contractor status in the federal System for Award Management (SAM) to determine if a contractor’s enrollment is active and if the contractor is barred (excluded) from federal business. I created cabinets and maintained electronic copies of contract documents and correspondence for all modifications and rebuilds in our electronic Paperless Contract File (PCF) system and on a common access V-Drive. I maintained the status of my purchase request (PR) assignments on a MEDCOM-wide PR log.
