  As Director of the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services, I directed the overal Emergency Medical Services program for the Commonwealth. This included the licensing of Paramedics and credentialing of Advanced EMTs, Emergency Medical Technicians and EMT-First Responders as well as licensing and inspection of over 250 ground and air ambulance services across the Commonwealth.

  I draft and maintain the State Emergency Management Communications Plan. I work with our partners, including local and state agencies in the development and deployment of the Emergency Alert System/IPAWS/CMAS/WEA plan for the Commonwealth. I coordinate Emergency Management projects within the Wireless Communications Section of the Department of Military Affairs, J6 Wireless Shop. I serve on Communications related committees at the local, state and federal level representing Emergency Management and participate in communications related meetings for the purpose of providing consult and advice on communications related issues and equipment acquisitions. I oversee and coordinate the maintenance/deployment/operation of the Emergency Management Mobile Command Vehicle. Show less

  I served as the Executive Director for Barren-Metcalfe County Ambulance Service. This service provides Advanced Life Support ambulance coverage for Barren and Metcalfe Counties in Kentucky. We operated from 3 bases and made a little over 10,000 responses annually. I managed a staff of around 65 full and part time individuals. The service is governed by a six (6) member Board and are supported by two (2) Taxing Districts and TJ Samson Health. I consider it an honor and privilege to have been a part of this organization.
