      The goal of this team is to design and build a large scale R/C aircraft which will compete in an international competition. The team is comprised of aerospace and mechanical engineering undergraduate students. We won first place overall in 2020 and 2021.

      At AFRL’s Aerospace Systems Structures Technology Branch (RQVS), I was involved with testing composite panels on hydraulic load frames to be used in advanced UAVs. Also, I created multiple programs to analyze fatigue crack growth rate data as well as modifying a code used to evaluate residual stresses of a metal specimen using the contour method.

      1st Place Overall SAE Aero Design East International Competition 2020 SAE International Mar 2020 At the 2020 SAE Aero Design East competition in Lakeland, Florida, Texas A&M Aero Design competed against 30+ international teams in a RC plane competition. Our plane performed very well and we received 1st place for Flight Performance, 2nd place for Oral Presentation of our design process and testing, and 1st place overall!
