  ..This job is very different to my prior jobs, working in a clinical environment brought along many challenges, you never stop learning on the job and you constantly take in new information. This is the main reason why I enjoy working at Specsavers so much. My job included; receptionist role, teaching patients how to apply and remove contacts, book appointments, deal with patients queries or issues, help with direct debits and also give advice on types of lenses and glasses we have, dispensing and measuring glasses, dealing with potential issues and correcting them, working on the till and being in charge of opening and closing up the shop.   This job was on a very remote station in the Australian outback, we took part in daily household keep, from cooking to vehicle maintenance and for four months each year we would muster the cattle using helicopters and motorbikes/utes. My role included cooking for 25 people while also dealing with tourists. I worked very closely with our vet and often helped administrator medical needs to the cattle. I hand reared a baby kangaroo ,Emu and several calves. I was also in charge of ensuring they received the correct medical supplies.. Show less

  This role is extremely varied, and meets every criteria I hoped for in work, I wanted to work in a care field that makes a difference with results I can see everyday. In this role, I work one to one for customers to provide service visits, yearly reviews, those, fitting of new aids, sound adjustments, hearing tests and wax removals I work alongside a team of optical staff and hearing aid audiologists to give the best service possible. For many hearing is a sensitive subject and often people put off knowing out of worry, my role is to not only help them through the process but also to be a listener and guide them through their worries. I have passed with destinction the Microsuctioning exam and Boots Fitting exam. Show less
