      Teaching on a variety of modules on courses ranging from Introductory Diploma in Sport and Active Leisure, to Foundation Degree in Public Service Studies. As a lecturer I write schemes of work, plan lessons to suit all learners, and conducted informal and formal assessment. I work alongside, and with other colleagues to deliver a programme of learning suitable for the students. Throughout my teaching I work hard to ensure my students fulfil their full potential and meet the grading criteria. I have developed a range of behaviour management strategies and creative teaching ideas. With the termination of the FESCo role I have worked independently to restructure the competitive sports programme at Macclesfield College. I have employed new high quality coaching staff, and developed and co-ordinated a structured training programme for all teams. I am responsible for organising all competitive sports fixtures and training sessions. I liaise with other colleges, organising facilities and transport, and deploy and manage all coaching staff, young leaders and referees.I co-ordinate the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award: I advertise and promote the award, recruit new students, and introduce and guide students towards completing their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. The role involves direct teaching of relevant camp craft, navigation, team work and leadership skills, along with co-ordinating and leading expeditions. Show less

      Working to increase participation in sport at Macclesfield College I recruited and managed a team of coaching staff, and worked with other colleges and local sports providers, to provide high quality sports opportunities for Macclesfield College Students. I developed a positive working relationship with the students, and the ability to keep them engaged and motivated. My leadership, time management and the ability to work independently whilst maintaining motivation has developed as a result.       Working as part of the University of Cumbria’s Access and participation team, I delivered a programme of activity to learners, teachers and advisors, and parents and carers, including presentations, workshops, and residential. Along with delivery of the core programme the role also involve developing innovative programmes of activity for specifically targeted learners, such disadvantaged males. Building relationships with learner along with school and college staff was essential of ensuring engagement in activity.       As Partner Outreach Manager I manage key relationships with partner organisations, project manage the development of new higher education outreach provision in order to aid educational progression in Cumbria. Working towards both programme wide (Uni Connect) and internal targets the role involves regular reporting through, monitoring returns, verbal updates and written reports where programme progress is discussed. I work effectively on detailed and time critical project plans, applying principles of project management to ensure that the project is moving forward in a timely manner through regular review points. The role also involves developing a detailed picture of the current outreach provision in Cumbria, in order to improve it; I have done this through the development and implementation of a comprehensive multistage mapping exercise. Findings from this exercise have been shared with key stakeholder to support the development of new provision that fits the current outreach landscape and needs. Prior to delivery I played a fundamental role in the creation of the programme of activity, this was achieve through consultation with key stakeholder across the county to ensure the programme met the need and was replicable across our areas of delivery. Successful delivery relied on the development and maintenance of strong working relationships with senior leaders and careers leads in schools and colleges.       I led carbon-reducing research project through a partnership of six North West Universities, benefiting businesses in Cumbria. By using creativity and data, I worked with businesses to transform ideas into tangible carbon-saving solutions. I recruited and managed a diverse team of researchers who worked with businesses across various sectors. Our projects included:• Quantifying the carbon impact of peatland restorations• Developing sustainable supply chains for affordable modular housing• Exploring the carbon savings of recycling construction materials• Investigating low-carbon temporary heating solutions for heritage buildingsWe also supported businesses by delivering a program of low-carbon solution workshops and networking events.The role provided an amazing opportunity for me to work closely with a range of enthusiastic businesses and land owners, using research and data to move their operations forward in a climate-conscious way, primarily through resources efficiencies such as process change, land management, and the principles of a circular economy. Leveraging my expertise in carbon reduction and project management, I engage a broad range of stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and successful project outcomes. Together with Brampton 2 Zero, we have successfully overseen multiple peatland restoration projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing biodiversity. Additionally, we have secured funding for a major natural flood management project, which promises numerous environmental and community benefits, such as carbon capture, biodiversity enhancement, and flood resilience.
