    • Multiple families

      Jun 2012 - Aug 2016
      Babysitter

Took care of children ages 2-10 years old. Not only did I supervise the kids and put them to bed, but I also showed up with fun games and ideas for what we could do so that the children can have a fun night while their parents were gone. I am also trained to care for diabetes and am CPR certified, which is important as a babysitter in case of an emergency.

    • The Manor at Hamlet Village

      Jul 2013 - Aug 2013
      Activities Coordinator

As the Activities Coordinator, I helped plan activities for the residents living at Hamlet Village Nursing Home such as bingo, snacks, reading days, and manicures. Many of these patients had illnesses such as Alzheimer's and Dementia, and their struggling memories made it difficult for them to perform day-to-day tasks, so I would often assist them with daily tasks if they needed me to do so. Often times, the residents just enjoyed having nice conversations with people, so I would engage with the residents and talk about things that made them smile and reminded them of times in their life that they enjoyed. • Cleveland Clinic

      May 2014 - Aug 2014
      Intern

Shadowed family practitioner at Solon practice through Laurel School's protege program. Through this shadowing experience, I learned that as a doctor, it is not only important to have problem-solving skills, but it is also equally important to be trustworthy and have good people skills when dealing with patients. Through this experience, I learned about what being a doctor would entail. It was fascinating to learn so much about medicine and how certain illnesses are treated as well as the skills it takes to go into that field. Show less

    • Cleveland Clinic

      Jul 2015 - Aug 2015
      Intern

At this time in my life, I thought I wanted to be a doctor. I shadowed a family practitioner at the Cleveland Clinic and observed her interactions with patients and learned about the jobs she performs on a day-to-day basis. While I am currently studying engineering, this internship helped me learn more about the workplace and helped me develop problem-solving skills and a work ethic that would be beneficial to any job I perform.

    • Mandel Jewish Community Center

      Jun 2016 - Sept 2016

As a lifeguard at the JCC, I helped maintain the pool each morning by making sure chlorine levels were where they needed to be and that there were no hazardous materials in the water. Throughout the day, I paid close attention to the people using the pool to make sure everyone was abiding by the rules and that everyone was safe. I strove to create a safe yet fun environment for everyone using the pool. I worked as a lifeguard at an 8 week camp hosted by the JCC. There were usually about 60 kids in the pool when the kids were at camp, so I had to be very attentive and make sure that all areas of the pool were covered and carefully guarded. As a lifeguard, I helped maintain the pool each morning so that chlorine levels were safe and so that no dangerous chemicals existed in the water. I worked with about 6 other lifeguards to make sure that the kids can have a safe and enjoyable time at camp. I taught the campers at the JCC's Anisfield Day Camp swimming lessons. Most of the kids I worked with were unable to swim when they originally came to camp. I believe that swimming is an important life skill, and I always had a passion for the sport. Teaching swimming lessons at the JCC allowed me to share my passion with other children and teach the valuable life skill of swimming. By the end of camp, I could see significant improvements in each and everyone of my students.

    • Core-Tech Ceramic Cores for Investment Casting

      May 2017 - Aug 2017
      Quality Assurance Intern

I worked in the quality assurance laboratory at Core Tech and tested the strength, LOI, and other material properties of the ceramic parts manufactured at Core Tech to make sure the materials were of high enough quality to be sent to customers. Additionally, I experimented with different mixtures and methods to make ceramic materials and tested the overall quality of these experimental designs to help the company determine the best methods of producing ceramic cores that will lead to greater customer satisfaction. • Core-Tech Ceramic Cores for Investment Casting

      May 2018 - Aug 2018
      Engineering Intern/Project Management Intern

Work with project management staff to create a carefully designed floor-plan for the ceramic manufacturing rooms so that the space is utilized in a way that allows as many furnaces to fit as possible without compromising people’s ability to maneuver through the room on foot and by cart. Most of the work involves sketching and revising layouts that will then be used to helped remodel some of the rooms at Core Tech. My job also includes research and lab work. The research mainly involves researching system optimization methods as well as ways to improve the production of Core Tech's ceramic cores. Core Tech is currently one of the best ceramic manufacturing plants in the world, and the staff members work well with each other to ensure they continue to produce high quality materials. Show less

Offshore wind turbines are subjected to long-term cyclic loading that creates changes in the soil-pile interface properties over the pile’s service life. During my research assistantship, I will be working with a team to evaluate the effects and influences of cyclic axial loading on cohesive and cohesionless soil-structure interface strength and displacement using recently developed testing equipment. I will also be evaluating how the roughness of the interface surface affects shear strength during static loading in cohesive and cohesionless soil. Show less
