  I have had the honor of leading yoga practices with youth at the Marietta Police Athletic League in the summer camps and in the after school program. Classes vary in age groups, from 5 to 14 years old, and class sizes have ranged from 2 to 30 kids at a time, in the Hugh Grogan Community Center gymnasium.

  Girl Scouts Yoga and Wellness Event Leader

  We held a Yoga and Wellness Event for the Shooting Stars Service Group at the Turner Chapel AME on Satruday, January 21, 2023 from 9:30 to 11:30 am. Participants practiced Sun Salutations, core strengthening, midnfulness meditation, a mindful mandala-coloring craft, balancing, and lots of laughter. Approximately 40 girls aged 5 to 18 enjoyed the event.

  We had so much fun at the Tommy Nobis Center's January Connect Event! I showed up with a speaker and music, and the adults with disabilities and some family members showed up with eagerness and a fun spirit. The Tommy Nobis Center was able to obtain brand new turquoise blue Gaiam yoga mats for every participant, and everyone enjoyed tasting the smoothies and socializing after the yoga practice. One of the most poignant moments was when the entire room burst out in applause after we completed practicing the sun salutation flow they had just learned to the song Linda Lara's "Sun Dance." It was a really fantastic day, and I look forward to collaborating with the Tommy Nobis Center and similar groups in the future. Show less
