  • Experience

    • University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

      Aug 2019 - Jul 2022

I pursued my PhD degree at Bioinformatics and Computational Biology program in UNC Chapel Hill. My thesis project focus on developing genetic and genomic tools for a mouse genetic reference population, Collaborative Cross. I developed a reference pangenome for the mouse population for better representing and managing the shared and diverse genomic features in an instra-specific population. I also developed pangenomic analysis tools for downstream analysis based on a pangenome model. I worked as a graduate teaching assistant in course Statistic Modeling BCB 720 at UNC Chapel Hill. My role includes doing a class for students, holding regular office hours, and grading homeworks.

      May 2021 - Aug 2021
      Information Technology Intern

I worked as an IT intern at Labcorp. My role is to develop genomic tools for analyzing PacBio CCS long read dataset for a highly divergent genomic region, KIR. I develop a pipeline using the long read dataset to assemble haplotigs for the KIR and perform allele typing for the 16 genes in this region.
