  I worked in the Littleton briquette factory for two summers (2009 & 2013) during the annual shutdown/overhaul. Duties included:• Maintenance and installation of light fittings throughout factory.• Panel wiring. Wiring of control circuits for motors, fans and various machines.• Assisting electricians in breakdowns and scheduled maintenance of equipment. • Wiring of new equipment in Firelighter plant.

  I worked as an apprentice electrician with ESB Networks for two years before being selected for a scholarship programme to study Electrical Engineering full time. I worked within various sectors in ESB Networks throughout Ireland and was involved in the network upgrade from 10kV to 20kV in rural areas.My duties throughout these 2 years included:• Construction and maintenance of High, Medium and Low Voltage networks.• Panel wiring in MV sub-stations. • Providing supply for new customers.• Urban network renewal.• Storm damage repair.   I was based in Dubai for over a year having successfully attained a long term assignment from the Cork office in October 2017.Much of my time in the UAE was spent working as a project engineer responsible for implementing the electrical design on site in Abu Dhabi. The project involved the extensive restoration of historic fort buildings in the city centre. I also worked on the detailed electrical design for the refurbishment of concourse areas at Dubai airport. Some of my duties included:• Resolving various design issues on site.• Responding to contractor submittals, i.e. RFI's, material approvals, shop drawings, etc.• Carrying out site inspections.• Attending progress meetings involving the client, contractor and project management.• Developing detailed electrical designs via Revit.• Preparing reports and presentations.• Carrying out peer reviews of electrical systems on final detailed designs. Show less I was employed as a graduate engineer within the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health) team in the Cork office in August 2014.I worked full time on the detailed electrical design of a number of metro stations located in the Middle East between 2015 to 2017. The design was fully co-ordinated in Revit (modelling software) between MEP, structures and architecture. As part of this project I spent over 3 months in the Singapore office towards the end of 2016. I also worked on other detailed design projects including a confidential hospital project in Dublin.My duties throughout the 3 years in Cork included developing:• Fire alarm designs including loop schedules and schematics.• Small power designs including Amtech calculations.• Normal and emergency lighting designs including DIALux calculations. • Electrical schematics.• Maximum demand calculations.
