  My role as Business Solution Architect has two objectives for ABSA internal clients. Firstly to create a target operating model for a business unit based off their strategy that depicts their service offering to the rest of the bank and the projects that are required to get the business unit their desired state. Secondly to oversee those projects from a design perspective to ensure that what is being developed is aligned with the target operating model and through that, aligned with the strategy of the business unit. I am currently responsible for the Group Processing business unit which includes vehicle finance, home loans and personal lending product opening. Show less The role of Head of Process Engineering entails managing the Process Engineering practice and the service delivery of the team. Process engineers are contracted into projects to perform specific deliverables on strategic projects and it is the responsibility of the head of process engineering to manage the engagement of the process engineers and develop the service offering of the capability to better enable ABSA services cluster to deliver on projects. The role requires to recruit, manage and develop top talent and ensure that those individuals are equipped with the necessary skills to deliver projects for ABSA. Show less Responsibilities include the re-engineering of business processes, systems specifications design, implementation and optimization. Projects include the automation of handover points between front office and back office operations and the automation. The advising of business operations and strategic initiatives is also part of the day to day activities. As a team member of the process engineering team at ABSA I am also very involved in establishing the team methodology. As part of the methodologies I am responsible for establishing and implementing the Business Process Reengineering capability which looks at Process analysis from As Is to the To Be process specification. Projects involved in at ABSA include the following: . Centralisation of International Banking processing centres from 5 regions to 1 region . Implementation of test key solution between international banking branches and processing centre . Design and implementation of the automation of international banking outward payments process .
