      In my hybrid academic and professional role as Learning Innovations Lead, I had the privilege of leading a talented digital learning team at Deakin University. Recently completed projects:- Led the roll-out of an internally award winning intelligent learning mobile assistant for students, Deakin Genie, in the Deakin Business School and Deakin Law School. Deakin Genie is a mobile app made up of chatbots, artificial intelligence, voice recognition and powered on a predictive analytics engine.- Performed a market landscape of Immersive Reality (Augmented & Virtual) for Business Education.- Designed Teaching Delivery guidelines for delivering active and collaborative on campus, cloud and converged classes and seminars.- Designed physical Learning Spaces for active and collaborative learning including innovating with new and emerging ICT/AV facilities. - Led the enterprise adoption of a customised Wordpress education platform.- Led the Faculty towards an enterprise wide adoption of a video hosting and capture service platform.- Established cloud learning minimum standards for unit and course sites.- Member of the nationally funded ePortfolio in Business Education Office of Learning and Teaching (OLT) research project ($220K+).- Led the enterprise wide adoption of the adaptive learning Smartsparrow platform.Key responsibilities:- Managed and lead the Learning Innovations BCEL (Building Capacity for Enhanced Learning) program: Faculty Academic and Sessional Staff Induction to Teaching and Learning, Assessment, Learning Spaces and Digital Technologies.- Represented on University and Faculty Committees and Working Groups: Faculty Teaching and Learning Committee; Campus Learning Spaces, CloudDeakin Advisory and Operations; and Academic Development Network. - Evaluated and operationalised digital technologies to support teaching practices and student learning experiences.- Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Show less As Deputy Director of the Bachelor of Commerce at the Deakin Business School, I was part of a multi-disciplinary course director team working harmoniously together to deliver on the aims of the revitalised AACSB & EPAS accredited Commerce program. Completed key projects:- Established an assurance of learning (AoL) process for course-wide mapping and alignment of program and graduate learning outcomes, unit learning outcomes, teaching and learning activities with assessment tasks and measures of assessment.- Evaluated new and emerging educational technologies and Learning Management Systems (i.e. Blackboard, Moodle and D2L aka Brightspace) for University wide adoption.- Explored the use of Learning Analytics from Deakin's core Learning Management Systems to inform the enhancement of teaching practices and learning design.- Designed guidelines and standards for creating accessible media rich learning and teaching resources. - Led the digital literacy capability and capacity of academic teaching teams. Show less I was part of the Online Learning Team within the Institute of Teaching and Learning central division at Deakin University. I was part of an expert team of online educators and developers responsible for providing high quality professional development, solutions and support to academics across Deakin University. Completed key projects: - Participated in the development and maintenance of close working relationships with Faculty-based academic staff and Educational Development groups, relevant divisions, other universities and the teaching and learning in higher education community.- Contributed to ITL’s program of professional development (including Professional Development for Casual Academic Staff (PDCAS); Fundamentals for new appointments; specialist topics and online teaching) that is consistent with the University’s Strategic Plan and ITL’s core commitments.- Provided advice and support to academic staff relative to curriculum design and development, including flexible approaches to teaching and learning delivery at both unit and course level. - Represented ITL, as required, on various committees for teaching and learning development. - Evaluated and supported the adoption of university wide digital technologies including: Social media and collaborative applications (WikiMedia, Drupal, Joomla), Learning Management Systems (i.e.Moodle, Blackboard and D2L aka Brightspace), Learning Repository (Equella), and Academic Integrity (Turnitin).- Surveyed and co-wrote the Deakin Strategies for Flexible Education: Recommendations Report. The recommendations laid the foundation for Deakin’s Flexible Education strategy.- Co-led the Graduate Attributes Mapping Tool Project with a prototype. I am supported by a high performing and well respected digital learning innovations team as well as a professional network of experts. Recently completed key projects:- Digital Workplace for the modern workforce, and Learning Spaces for Student projects.- Deakin Digital Learning Environments and Eco-system Future State.- Converted business development opportunities with industry and educational partners into digital learnings solutions.- MBA community hub site and online learning experiences using the Double Diamond design thinking approach.- Organised the ePortfolio Australia Forum & co-lead the ASCILITE Learning Design Special Interest Group (300+ members)- Led the successful online exam process at Deakin Business and Law School within a short span of 6 weeks during the COVID-19 pandemic.- Led the successful transition of 300+ Deakin Business & Law School units to online learning during the COVID-19 pandemic.- Led the capability building program of teaching teams to uplift their digital literacy and teaching capability for brilliant online learning.
