  Responsible for complete design from initial concept through to introduction of product of a wide range of electrical control equipment, circuit breakers and accessories.Designed a Fused Connection unit, Co-axial TV & TV/FM outlet units for a Far East joint venture project.Worked on the new Safety Socket launched by Crabtree.Designed, developed & introduced a new range of Multi- tariff configuration consumer units which included 1 & 2 bank consumer units; Busbar connection units; Single & double pole Direct connection units & Tap-off Main Switches.Saved the company from penalty clauses during a crisis; i.e. a large order of custom built multi-configuration panel boards were required for the pharmaceutical giant “Glaxo" with a critical time schedule. The following action was taken:-• Successfully managed a team of 10 contractors issuing and checking design jobs• Achieved reduced lead-time from date of order to despatch of the panelboard.• Assisted in the development of the existing database for jobs both received and despatched between departments of the company.Introduced a new range of Moulded Cased Circuit Breakers and panelboards, namely the "Powerstar" range.Worked with a team of designers on a new range of plug-in circuit breakers and consumer units, namely the "Starbreaker" range.Worked on various small products & development work to gain experience within the design team.   Successfully completed CE marking activity.New Self Righting Bollard developed, producing retro-fit solutions for different Baselight configurations out in the field. Designed modular LED Subway lighting system taking into account BS EN lighting levels and heat dissipation tests to ensure design life of LED’s are kept to a maximum.Designed Patented Self Righting mechanism and Bollard producing a 3D model, from that producing a working physical model to check functionality. Thereafter producing injection mouldable parts in conjunction with moulding company.Developed Solar powered Self Righting Bollard.Produced designs for a range of bollards for the French market utilising our patented self righting mechanism.Developed LED solutions for all signlights produced by Signature.Re-design of Modular Passenger Shelters for 2 major contracts, namely Mersey Travel & Metro; involving aluminium extrusion design, aluminium sand casting & die casting design.Day to Day Duties include: - Answer any sales enquiries, PFI projects, after sales queries. Maintain Design Development Requests, issue out to other engineers within the R&D Dept,. Liaise with all other departments; namely Shop-floor, Sales, Purchasing, Planning, Accounts, etc., When required demonstrate Signature products to clients, customers or consultants. Attend customer / supplier meetings where applicable. On-site problem solving and attending meetings with clients and customers.
