  Euro Gyro was established in 1979, and is located across the street from the University of Akron. Over the years 6 more locations have been added to the business. After the spring semester of 2011, the Akron location was leveled, and the construction of a two-story million dollar pub & eatery was built.I approached the owner in September 2011 with my plan for my internship thesis to completely staff a privately owned establishment utilizing the students from the Hospitality Department. Plus, as an added bonus, I was able to implement and test the entire curriculum taught at the University.- I created the job specifications and job descriptions- I identified the cycle of service, and I created a comprehensive work flow chart for the front and back of the house- I interviewed and hired a staff of 35 individuals to operate the facility - The back of the house was staffed with students from the University Culinary Department - The front of the house was staffed with students seeking training in customer service- I instituted ongoing training programs utilizing the Service-Profit Chain philosophy- I designed the pub's beer and liquor inventory and regulated the pricing- I bartended over 100 shifts to hone my customer skills- I delegated and trained a manager for all three departments Show less
