      Summer internship in curatorial department, New York City, working on various stages of exhibition planning, design, implementation, and production of associated publications. Researched, edited, and wrote exhibition publications and object databases, tombstones and extended label text for particular objects, processed funding applications and loan agreements. Worked on exhibitions including El Anatsui: When I last Wrote to You About Africa, and Ibrahim El-Salahi: A Visionary Modernist.

      Development Lead for: American Indian Newspapers (2018), Ethnomusicology: Global Field Recordings (winner of Choice Outstanding Academic Title, 2020), Sex and Sexuality: Self-expression, Community and Identity (awarded Library Journal Best Reference Database, 2021).Based in the Chicago office of UK academic publisher Adam Matthew Digital, I led the development of digital products for online learning in the humanities and social sciences. This covered all stages of project management from nurturing initial product concepts, to conducting market research into academic trends and subject areas, working in archives to research and curate collections for digitisation, writing project proposals, clearing copyright permissions, negotiating licence agreements, and managing relationships with the academic community, libraries and archives. My role involved frequent travel, attending academic conferences and managing partnerships with educational institutions across the US, and my particular interest was in increasing diversity in representation and equality of access to our products.
