      Lead Chemotherapy Nurse

CPUK was a radiotherapy based service model when I joined. My role was to map out the chemotherapy service, pathways that would be required, policies and protocols. I worked with consultants to ensure the service was robust. The model was then taken to set up a new centre in Oxford, where the pathways and policies were adopted but some localisation had to occur to ensure they fitted to the local patient group and surrounding services that we would need to work with. We took our first patient at Milton Keynes in September 2014 and the service continues to grow and develop,I have built a team of nurses at both sites, and also bank nurses to support.I have mentored a group of locum pharmacists who were vital to the service starting to accept patients, this has not been without challenges and we now have a permanent pharmacist in place as the service is now so well established. We have a third site opening in Kent in November and the chemotherapy service is now a strong service in the CPUK model Show less

My Nurse Ltd's gained its first NHS contract with Cambridge University Hospitals ( Addenbrookes ) to deliver the Flu vaccine program, this year. The Program commenced in October 2017 and 4 weeks into the program helped the trust to achieve it's CQUIN target of inoculating 70% of all staff. By the end of the campaign we had helped them reach 86% of all staff. Great to work alongside this trust and also to assist in the development of My Nurse's reputation. In December 2017 we assisted Bedford NHS Trust in reaching their goal by achieving 73% of all staff inoculated during their flu vaccinations program. Both programs had individual challenges but it was extremely rewarding to be able to offer a flexible and unique approach in order to help them gain their objectives.
