      Event Planner/Backline Coordinator

      My primary job function was selling our backline services (high-end equipment rental) to local & regional event venues. This role involved sales, customer service, quality control, logistics, inventory and technical proficiency with dozens of models of equipment. These events were for as many as 50,000 attendees. During my tenure at Mom's, annual profits for the backline department doubled and customer retention markedly improved while increasing the inventory by 35%. The satisfied customer list includes: Kentucky Derby Festival, Forecastle Festival, Horseshoe Casino, Casino Aztar, & the Hillary Clinton Presidential Campaign. Mom's would also subcontract my consulting and event operation management skills to Louisville Metro Government among others. Yet, I spent an equal amount of time planning all aspects of Mom's Music's special events ranging from all premier concerts to employee's holiday parties to event space rental. This aspect of the position allowed me to hone my skills in regards to all facets of event management, including sales, scheduling, staffing and advertising.       I came to Mercer just as the company was reorganizing the over-dimensional department. I spearheaded the complete overhaul of the SOP and worked in conjunction with IT to automate systems and improve record keeping through use of Microsoft Office Suite, focusing primarily on Excel but also utilizing Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, & Access. I created currently maintained databases to archive the exponentially growing amount of data required to ensure all contractors are compliant. My responsibilities included: overseeing the training of employees, monitoring daily functions, and the supervision and guidance of a staff of eleven.       A company of 15, I wear many hats in this position. This requires superb time management and attention to detail. Primarily, I am here to oversee the daily functions of the office including the management of the staff. This includes managing the technicians’ schedules as well as being the face for Argo to all clients. Responsibilities also include providing competitive quotes to clients for goods and services while also maintaining inventory (including shipping and receiving) of products we keep on hand. In my time at Argo, I’ve overseen, amongst other projects, the technology refresh of clients requiring over 2500 devices (work stations & firewalls.) Show less
