Product design, engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality.Tidbit: On a Tuesday during the week of Thanksgiving in 1997, NBC Nightly News with Tom Brokaw visited the facility to view the production of paper shredders and to discuss their usefulness. That evening, NBC ran a special report introducing the concept of "Identity Theft" to the nation, with shredding being promoted as a necessary safe guard. On Black Friday, paper shredders became the top selling item in the world. Our production volume went from around 2000 per week, to 40,000 per week. Show less

      Utility scale solar energy start-up. The Stirling system consisted of a 40' diameter structure arrayed with mirrors, which reflected and concentrated sunlight onto a 25kW, four cylinder Stirling Engine. Each site was projected to consist of 25,000 of these units. Working with premier Tier 1 auto industry suppliers, 4 proof of concept units, and an additional 60 unit demonstration plant were successfully constructed. A state-of-the art high volume manufacturing facility was developed and under construction, but alas, political support for solar energy failed, and so did the company.Managed the development of a $40 million high volume manufacturing plant based on state of the art automated automobile assembly technology. (Robotic assembly cells, Laser Welding cells, Adhesive application cells, Automated material transfer, In-line paint systems, Automated measurement and test). Show less
