Heading up 6 locations in central London, they are the creator of The Alpha Course, a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith. Run globally in churches, universities, cafes and homes, it has seen monumental growth and success in the last 15 years. As Events and Supporter Relations Administrator for Alpha International, I undertook the administration for their new online platform 'Run Alpha'. Connecting with all past churches and organisers of the course in the UK I communicated about the new software and web page launch. Responsibilities while in the role:- Researched and contacted vendors and venues for upcoming Run Alpha Event.- Part of strategy and promotion meetings for Run Alpha Campaign.- Sourced new campaign materials for upcoming event for promotional purposes.- Updated supporter databases and kept in touch with partnering churches on their progress with new courses and resources. - Corresponded with supporters updating them on new software and web page launch. - Produced reports from supporter and course databases to accurately project progress. Apr 2014 - Aug 2016Romanian speaking shelter assistant'Homeless Day Centre' Assistant at Webber Street.For over fifty years homeless people in London have been given care, support, food, showers and clothing at Webber Street, London City Mission’s homeless day centre in Waterloo.Each year they serve over 14,000 breakfasts, 2000 showers and clean sets of clothes, and literally countless cups of tea and coffee!As an assistant at the shelter, I helped to provide a caring service to over 80 homeless men. Whilst building relationships with those in need, I assessed and addressed their personal and practical needs. Helping to create CV's and find job opportunities whilst also enrolling newly homeless people at the Job Centre and other government services. Having learnt the Romanian language on various voluntary trips to the country I connected mainly with this international group and aided them with starting life in the UK.- Integrated the service users back into society by assisting in writing CV's and making applications for prospective jobs.- Assisted with vocational qualification applications for guests.- Connected service users with Job Centre Plus and enrolled internationals for NI Numbers and job appointments.- Liaised with external support workers and rehabilitation centres.- Translated for Doctor and Nurse appointments with visiting NHS staff.- Booked external healthcare appointments and attended where necessary.- Sorted and distributed clothing and food donations.- Delivered motivational talks to those using the service.- Managed different activity groups in the centre.- Participated in the preparation and serving of all meals, adhering to Food Safety and Hygiene Regulations set out by the FSA.Participated in and received qualifications in the following:Physical Restraint TrainingFood Safety and Hygiene Certificates Show less
