  FRS2 - Sea Harrier 2Worked on the integration of the Hughes AMRAAM-120A missile onto the Sea Harrier aircraft.Provided inputs to the Ferranti Blue Vixen Radar Model, the Hughes Missile Message Cueing Model and the Hughes 6DOF Missile Models.I was responsible for generating the real world inputs into the Radar model, and feeding the outputs to the missile models, enabling complete scenario simulation.Responsible for the weapon aiming algorithms, and providing all relevant data to the successful Sea Harrier firing trials.Provided support to Tornado MLU and Sea Harrier FR/S2 Projects on all AMRAAM related work.Technologies: FORTRAN on VAX 8650 using VMS.Achievements: The missile was accepted onto the Sea Harrier by the MOD.The missile Firing Trials were a complete success and passed first time, due to the fact that using my real world simulation model, specified scenarios could be tested in advance.As a consequence, the missile was integrated into the Sea Harrier upgrade programme (FR/S2) and into the Tornado MLU (Mid Life Update). This project was a first stab at automating the process using computers.I was responsible for coding and running the analysis of traffic as measured from TXD-OP, recorded at exchanges throughout the UK, with varying proportional traffic distributions, and generating the figures which were then checked against manually derived ones.Technologies: FORTRAN on IBM 3090 using ISPF with MVSESANetwork Security Protection Routing Packages – PRONET & PLANEXI provided technical advice to determine the required enhancements.Solely responsible for updating the code and running both the resilience and critical failure packages.Technologies: Same as 1CALL ROUTE FACTORS - CRAFTAn all new nationwide automated process (born out of 1 above).I was responsible for coding and running the analysis of traffic as measured from TXD-OP, recorded at exchanges throughout the UK, through removing potential duplicates, adding Operators, routing the calls, and preparing the data for insertion into the CALL ROUTING DATA BASE (CRDB).Once operational, optimizing the code to achieve the ability to run month on month (originally only capable of running twice a year).Technologies: C on SUN Sparc 10 and 20 using UNIX.NETWORK CALL DATA VISUALIZATION and ANALYSIS - NCDVAA project to enable visualization of small data sets of Network Calls.I was responsible for coding and running the visualization of Call Data.One additional requirement was for me to produce a call search engine with specific variables to reduce the size of the sample to be visualised.Technologies: C / C++ on SUN Ultra Creator 1 using UNIX. Sole Project Manager when in situDay to day responsibilities:Produce weekly (monthly & quarterly) progress reports for stakeholders, showing performance of all systems, attend senior management meetings and present results to them, answering any queries and responding to any specific requests.Produce daily activity reports, highlighting any hardware not functioning, any probes not reporting or any below specification Broadband speeds.Investigate any hardware malfunctions or thefts and rectify by visiting site(s).Analyse any below specification results, by checking local fault report logs, discussing with the various in-house departments and ascertain any outside conditions causing below par performance.Project work focus:Facilitate the import of the Epitiro equipment through Saudi Customs.Set up, install and test the equipment in a test area.Obtain security clearance to get into the exchanges, negotiate the provision of space, power and cooling within the exchanges.Commission local suppliers for the delivery of security cabinets in which to install the equipment within exchanges.Hire local technicians to run longer cables within exchanges, and obtain security clearance for them.Procure several hundred DSL lines to connect the equipment back to the UK.Transport the equipment to the exchanges, install the equipment into the cabinets within the exchanges and test its operation to ensure data transmitted was being collected in the Epitiro Databases in the UK.Liaise with local heads of department to ensure the smooth running of the project and to incorporate later suggestions made and ownership of the reporting activity.
