  Machine Technician

  In this role, I worked as a team with fellow Machine Technicians and Operators to ensure the operation of a mass production machine in a manufacturing company. I was responsible for maintaining machine parts to improve and sustain production time as well as delivering quality control of products to meet customer requirements. Due to the fast paced environment of the production line, it was imperative to the role that I worked safely, diligently and efficiently to avoid slowing production and missing deadlines. For example, it was important that I had adhered to COSSH rules and regulations and communicated with my colleagues to ensure I created a safe working environment for myself and others so all tasks could be carried out, products produced and consequently targets met.   Field Service Engineer

  As a Field Service Engineer I was responsible for maintaining and repairing photographic and ophthalmic equipment for a wide range of customers, predominantly of the health and retail sectors, across the North of England and Scotland. Consequently, the role involved regular travel across these areas and working away from home when required. Furthermore, excellent communication skills were integral to the role to deliver good customer care and work well as part of a team of Field Engineers. For example, as the role required a lot of travel, it was essential that I delegated tasks to office support staff, such as closing jobs on the system, communicated consistently with fellow Service Engineers to track jobs and maintained contact with customers to provide a quick, efficient and professional service. The role also required quick thinking, using my initiative and being accountable for my own decisions, particularly as I was responsible for ordering parts and managing my own stock as well responsible for the repair, installation and maintenance of photographic and ophthalmic equipment. Main duties included providing reactive and preventative maintenance to photographic and ophthalmic equipment, providing excellent customer service, coordinating and managing my own workload.   I work independently in this role, responsible for managing my own work load to provide reactive and preventative maintenance of technical gaming machinery in Casino’s across the North East region. With several busy Casino's operating throughout the region, often relying on out-of-hours technical support, it is essential that I respond quickly and flexibly to meet customer needs. To do this, I aim to plan ahead where possible, for example, by undertaking scheduled services to help avoid machine downtime and also prioritise tasks effectively to ensure support is given where its needed most. To ensure customer satisfaction, I efficiently log and report on jobs so I can identify key issues and areas for improvement as well as apply logic and a sound technical knowledge of engineering to repair machines quickly and efficiently.
