It plays a strategic role in Brisbane's education market by working in collaboration with members, such as educational institutions and service providers, in developing and expanding the city's profile as an international student destination.Study Brisbane’s City Welcome Festival is the largest city-based welcome event for international students in Australia, was hosted on 28 February 2018 at King George Square. The Festival showcased Brisbane education and accommodation providers, businesses, council and community groups, as well as include the Lord Mayor’s International Student Friendship Ceremony.   Student Employability Accelerator Program (SEAP) is a five weeks curricula program for tertiary education students to work on real-life projects for QLD’s tech startups as a consulting team and engage in an active learning environment with startup enthusiast, entrepreneurs and innovators from the River City Labs. It was running from May to July 2019 and had supported 181 students online, engaged 22 students with 3 startup mentors, and provided them with unique experiential Learning experiences in tech, entrepreneurship, innovation and business. Program highlights: 🔸 181 applicants are from 28 nationalities and 23 educational institutions 🔸 95% of participants have improved their employability🔸 92% of participants recommend SEAP to their peers🔸 80% of participants consider starting their own ventures🔸 All the startups are likely/very likely to recommend SEAP🔸 SEAP has rolled out to The University of Queensland (UQ) and turned micro-credentials into a Work Integrated Learning (WIL) program in Federation University Australia in late 2019This program is funded by the support of the Queensland Government's International Education and Training Partnership Fund, managed by the Study Queensland within Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ).
