  Student Ambassador

  After a selection procedure I was selected as the only Flemish student ambassador for a nation-wide promotional campaign for AZG/MSF Belgium. This included a field visit at the projects in Kibera (Nairobi, Kenya), blogging about my experiences and acting as a spokesperson at several media opportunities, such as Studio Brussel, Guido Magazine, Twizz Radio and others.

  The Board of Directors of the student organisation, Politika, overlooks the long-term financial management. As student representative at the faculty of social sciences, KU Leuven, I was a member of several commissions which set out long-term goals to maintain high educational standards and oversee their concrete implementation. As vice president I was co-responsible for the daily management of the student organisation, Politika, which represents all students of the faculty of social sciences at the KU Leuven.

  During this voluntary internship I wrote analyses, articles and press overviews on themes regarding Euro-Arab relations and developments in the Middle East.Organizing events, conferences, lectures etc. was another interesting responsibility of the whole team at MEDEA.I suppported the work of the Belgian Network of the Anna Lindh Foundation and the 'Assemblée des Citoyens et Citoyennes de la Méditerannée' project. I supported both organizations and MEDEA with regard to general administration and external communication. This meant regularly updating the website and translating French/English articles to Dutch as well as writing in these three languages. Show less

  As project manager I had several responsibilities overspanning 'quality control & customer care'​, 'workforce management'​ and 'human resources'.Analyzing data such as the key performance indicators and service level agreement historically and day-to-day was essential to see what actions could be undertaken in order to augment efficiency or customer satisfaction for different clients.According to these analyses training and coaching was provided.   Finance Officer Projects

  As Project Officer at the Finance department of the ITUC I am responsible for the financial follow-up of many different projects. One main responsibility is delivering financial reports to donors such as the European Commission, the International Labour Organization, the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung and others. Therefore it is crucial to coordinate the expected time-frame and deliverables with all our co-workers at the headquarters, our offices abroad and the affiliates.Another task I manage is overseeing the expenditure of different projects, especially those funded by the European Commission. For the strategic and long-term planning of the budget it is of the utmost importance that the information provided is detailed and accurate. These day-to-day tasks are coordinated between the members of our Projects team. Personally, I also work autonomously on the financial reporting of the two main European offices who are involved with in-the-field activities.Because of our rapidly changing working environment I am currently involved in different projects to increase our own and the affiliates' efficiency.
