      I am responsible for ensuring the safety of the women and babies in our care, by ensuring the correct evidenced based policies and procedures are in place and the midwives have the skills and competences to provide that care. I currently work part time for BTUH and Southend NHS Trust as a Supervisor of Midwives. I have also assisted the LSA with two Supervisory investigations and completed two supervisory investigations for external Trusts in the East of England.In December 2014 I was awarded the East of England Supervisor of the year award.       Since October 2012 I started my own business as an Independent Midwifery Advisor and have completed nine pieces of work for seven Trusts in England, one for Derby CCG and one for NHS England.One in Peterborough, Norfolk and Norwich, Daren't Valley, Queen's Hospital, Watford Maternity Unit, Luton & Dunstable and Shrewsbury and Telford and from December 2013 to May 2014 I provided leadership and mentor support to an Interim Head of Midwifery in the East of England and then completed an independent review for NHS Derbyshire CCG at Derby Maternity unit.since April 2017 I have worked for Southend University Hospital Trust, 2 days a week, as a Maternity Risk Manager.
